ABOUT ME

Long before I became a running coach, I was a college athlete.

I played Division I soccer at the University of Richmond, and competitive sports shaped much of how I approach hard things: show up, work hard, be coachable, support the people around you, and keep going when things get uncomfortable.

Running came later. And I definitely didn't start out knowing what I was doing.

My sister convinced me to sign up for my first marathon in 2024. I showed up with essentially no fueling strategy, barely drank water, went out way too fast, and learned quite a few lessons the hard way.

Somehow, I fell in love with it anyway.

Since then, running and endurance sports have become a huge part of my life. I've completed multiple marathons, qualified for Boston, continued chasing my own endurance goals, and learned just as much from the workouts and races that didn't go according to plan as the ones that did.

That experience also changed how I think about being an athlete.

My college-athlete brain taught me how to work incredibly hard. Endurance sports taught me that working harder isn't always the answer.

I've learned to value recovery. To respect easy days. To fuel the work. To distinguish productive discomfort from warning signs. To stop treating every workout like a test.

And I've learned that individual sports aren't really individual at all.

You may be the one crossing the finish line, but you don't get there alone.

That's a big part of why I love coaching.

I get to be one of the people in someone else's corner.

Why I Coach

I love running.

But what I really love is what happens when someone starts realizing they're capable of something they weren't sure they could do.

Sometimes that's a first 5K.

Sometimes it's breaking two hours in the half.

Sometimes it's qualifying for Boston.

Sometimes the win is simply becoming someone who consistently runs three days a week. Your big goal doesn't have to look like someone else's big goal to matter.

I want to help athletes pursue those goals with smart training, honest communication, patience, confidence, and someone genuinely invested in seeing them succeed.

Faith & Values

My faith is the foundation of who I am and how I try to live, work and serve others.

You absolutely do not need to share my faith to work with me. I coach people, not demographics.

But my values do shape the kind of coach I strive to be: someone who cares about the person in front of me, serves them well, communicates honestly, and recognizes that athletic performance is something worth pursuing without making it the measure of a person's worth.

Performance matters. It just doesn't get to tell us who we are.
